November 11- We didn’t do anything with E today to celebrate 11/11/11, even though I thought we should, there really isn’t any way to make a 20 month old appreciate it. So, instead we took her out for dinner, which went pretty successfully. She ate a little, colored two pictures, drank from a big cup, and then was all done. After dinner, she showed off by running around a few stores. At bath time tonight, I was really impressed with E’s pouring, she’s figured out how to go from cup to cup and only spills a little.

Above, E is on her phone. For my birthday, E got me cases for an ipod touch, fortunately it came with one extra so that E could have her own.

 

November 10- E and Ama spent the day together again today. They went to open gym at Hoyt School, and E really enjoyed the shopping cart. Ama also took E out to look at the snow, and E figured out how to pick up and eat ice. At home, E was her usual playful self, clowning around with the pillow, watching Dinosaur Train and dancing.

November 9- The most memorable thing about today happened at bedtime. We put E down at her normal time, and I could hear her moving around and throwing her toys out of her bed. Then I heard her “owie” and start to cry, so I went up to check on her. I walked in and she said, “uh oh, diaper.” E was standing in her crib, completely naked, with her lovies, jammies, and diaper on the ground. I couldn’t believe that she managed to get her jammies off. We added an onesie to her jammies, and put her back to bed. After about 5 minutes, dada went to check on her, and found her without her jammies, and her onesie unsnapped. In a new set of jammies, she managed to fall asleep.

Here, E and I are looking at pictures of NatieAnnie on Facebook, this has been her abosolute favorite activity this week, and we’ve looked at every picture posted. I’m not sure why she put the glove on, but I certainly added to the activity.

November 8- I celebrated my birthday today, my second one as a momma. E started the morning by bringing me the card she picked out and colored for me. She chose it because of the ducks on the front. E was thrilled with my gift, fortunately, it came with a cardboard copy, which has become E’s “phone.” After daycare, we went to dinner. It’s the first time we’ve taken E out to eat in a long time. She gets board so quickly, that its really, really hard to enjoy eating out. Since she had both sets of grandparents, she lasted at the table pretty well. She also had her baby to play with, which helped. 

E has gotten really good at opening presents, she’ll be fun to watch at Christmas.

 

November 7- E has discovered how fun it is to climb up on this pillow and try to stand. She likes the uneven textures, and usually has a few funny collapses on to her bottom while playing. She has also enjoyed being naked lately, and insisted on having her pants off.

November 6- Today was a busy one. This morning, E and I made pancakes for breakfast, E is really good at pouring things out of measuring cups and stirring. I took E with me on some errands, she isn't the best helper when shopping, although at the grocery store she made sure that we got apple sauce (a new favorite) and yogurt. So that's something! After the errands, we went with Ama and Ada to a new playground near their house, E loved it. They had a bouncy fire truck to ride on, a bridge, and a slide. She started going down the slide on her tummy, which ended in big smiles. E woke up from her nap a little sad, and watched some Elmo and Dinosaur Train with Dada until she was feeling more like herself. She helped me cook dinner, and did some good playing (or play, play, play as she says).

We also learned tonight that E knows how to suck up spaghetti noodles,which is pretty cute to watch.

November 5- Tonight E helped make pizza for dinner. I asked her what she wanted to have, and of course, she said "pizza." Lately, when E gets hungry, she just starts listing the kinds of food she wants, the list usually goes "muffin, pizza, noodle, chicken, cookie." E was a great helper putting pepperoni on the pizza and dropping handfuls of black olives. Then, she started eating the olives off the pizza. When it came time to eat her cooking, she only ate the toppings.

Aside from cooking, we went to the park, after the long walk there, she only went down the slide twice before she wanted to go home. E and dada also went shopping for my birthday, and she colored me a card.

November 4- I took the morning off to spend time with some of my good friends. My friend Caryn was visiting from Seattle, with her baby S, so, we took the time to get my high school friends and their kids together. E had a great time playing with S and with L. She's played with L before, and was very excited to have him at her house. She pronounces his name Lucy, and picked out her favorite ducky washcloths to share with him. Baby S was so sweet, E loved sharing her toys with him, and his momma let her put his blanket on and off (just like one of her dolls). She loved covering up his legs, and "peek"ing at his toes.

After daycare, we had A over for the evening. She and E went to the park, colored, and had dinner together. They spent the rest of the night playing with E's toys, although E was pretty worn out from our big day, and had to get ready for bed while A was still over. My favorite part of watching the two girls play was the moment where they both wanted to sit on the Dora chair. During A's turn, E stood and repeated "waiting, patience, waiting, patience"

November

I  can't believe that its November! October flew by, and suddenly people are talking about Thanksgiving.

November 3- E spent the day with Ama and Ada, they went to MSCR open gym, where E saw a baby and went down the slide. She was most excited about the baby. When I picked her up today, she asked for milk. Its the first time in a week that she's asked, and it was clearly part of our routine. We always sit in the brown rocking chair when I pick her up. We left without milk, and without incident.

Once we got home, dada and E went for a nice long walk with the girls, and E ate a nice dinner. Here, E and dada are watching Dinosaur Train. This was a dream of dada's before E was even born, he wanted to show her this program about dinosaurs and talk to her about them, now he's gotten his chance.

November 2- E was very big on helping today. On the way home from daycare, I asked her if she'd help me cook dinner, and she said "yeah." Then when we got home, she wanted to help the basement inspector we had come over. She then helped with dinner, although she wanted to make pizza, we made soup, and she measured the water. When I was adding veggies she found this radish in the fridge, and insisted on eating it.

I was thrilled to take this picture. When I was slightly older the E, I bit into a radish that our neighbor grew in his garden. I thought it was an apple, and was very upset with what I was eating. Its actually one of my earliest memories. So, when E grabbed this one, I grabbed the camera. She didn't mind the radish one bit, and proceeded to eat a good part of it.

October 1- E has taken to sleeping with a zoo's worth of animals (and blankets for each one). She's got big giraffe, little giraffe, dolly, blue puppy, Doot Doot, and big monkey. This is E the morning after tick or treating. She went to bed about 8, and I had to wake her up at 6:45 in the morning. E has also discovered the dada's shoes have insoles, she spent quite a bit of time taking them in and out. We also got to play on the tennis courts with A and R, we are trying to get all our walks in while we have the chance.
