This morning she woke up at 5:30 and came to bed with her dad and I.

D: I'm going to lay right here and make a sandwich
M: I'm not turkey!

She's also been going through a pretty intense Elsa phase lately, spending her time dressed as Elsa and informing everyone that she is Elsa. She has asked me for a blue Hello Kitty hat, like the one that Elsa wears.abbiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12396324246430046625noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-374209986204824742.post-8805712280106843092015-09-25T20:33:00.000-07:002015-09-25T20:33:03.004-07:00Big girl bikeToday was E's turn for a milestone we took the training wheels off her bike. Each day she has worn a tutu (either her Hello Kitty one or a black one with pearl beads) all day long. Even to school, even to sell lemonade for a Badger game (surprisingly, this didn't help sales as much as I anticipated)abbiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12396324246430046625noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-374209986204824742.post-51601078057786587962015-09-13T19:01:00.002-07:002015-09-13T19:01:56.486-07:00More of Miss M

Dada: M likes Chewbacca, Arrrooooo (Chewbacca sound)
E: M does not like Chewbacca
M: Me like Chewbacca. Arrra Arrra Arra (Chewbacca noise from a two year old)

Also today, she gave me a hug and told me that she loved me for the first time. It was adorable.
Bed time has been a little hit or miss this weekend for both girls, so they got into E's bed together for a while tonight, and read and chatted for a little while, it was very sweet.abbiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12396324246430046625noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-374209986204824742.post-57948278906862147622015-09-06T18:51:00.001-07:002015-09-06T18:51:36.015-07:00Sometimes More says things that we had no idea she could, tonight for example, Dada sneezed, and M said "gesunheit!" The best part was the fact that she said it as though she has been saying it forever.abbiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12396324246430046625noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-374209986204824742.post-24471254768457398622015-08-24T17:22:00.004-07:002015-09-13T19:02:11.122-07:00Conversations with a magooA: how come you are so short?
M has been talking about babies pretty consistently for some time now. But this morning, she was playing with her doll and we noticed that he now has a name, Zeeky. Its in honor of Sid the Science Kid's little brother!abbiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12396324246430046625noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-374209986204824742.post-7003470049164399542015-05-27T18:15:00.003-07:002015-05-27T18:15:56.023-07:00Stop it now sissy!M is a little slower to talk then her sister was, but her language has been absolutely exploding lately. Not a day passes when she doesn't have some new word to add to her vocabulary, and her sentences get more and more complex.

Tonight was her first four word sentence "stop it now sissy" which was of course said at story time, when E wouldn't move her feet out of M's way.

M is very good about communicating what she wants, she is also fond of saying "me come" or "me go" like she did when her friend A was leaving tonight's play date. She is also a big fan of "ooh la la" which she learned from Fancy Nancy who is called Fancy Annie at our house!abbiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12396324246430046625noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-374209986204824742.post-89689995677751532632015-02-18T07:58:00.000-08:002015-02-18T07:58:13.761-08:00Saying all the wordsM is talking more and more, whenever she enters the house she calls "helow." She identifies items of clothing, specifically socks and shirts. She identifies Sesame Street characters (Bert is her favorite). Of course, she says "no" and she calls her sister by name whenever E is frustrating her. At all other times E is "sissy."

With all the words that M has, E is constantly puzzled by her refusal to say "goo goo ga ga momma dadda." I'm not sure why this is important to E, but we spend quite a bit of time discussing the fact that M won't say it!abbiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12396324246430046625noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-374209986204824742.post-82323258432509780282015-02-17T18:38:00.001-08:002015-02-17T18:38:04.552-08:00A week with Miss MI was lucky enough to get to spend a whole week with Miss M while Ama and Ada were on vacation. We stuck to her usual activities which was so fun for me. I got a little glimpse into her life that I don't usually get. I met her friends, saw her hangouts, and was just generally along for the ride as she got to "drive" during the day.

We also got to drop E off at school each morning, and we picked her up for most of the second week.

We started out together on Thursday the 6th, on Thursdays M goes to Hoyt for open play time. Her friends were there and everyone asked her where her grandpa was. M was pretty funny during these exchanges, whenever someone asked where her grandpa was, she'd look around like he might pop up any second. Her favorite thing at Hoyt was snack, followed by playing the the dolls and strollers, then the slide. M also discovered Hoyt's potty, so we went to the bathroom three or four times.

On Friday, M goes to school at Tenny Nursery School, she loves her teacher Miss Tina, and had a great time in the kitchen. Miss Tina got out the class hedgehog for her to look at, M wasn't really a fan of it, particularly when it waked on the ground. She asked about its "socks" several times. Socks is one her favorite words!

We had a crazy weekend. On Saturday M had her first swimming lesson, then the girls and I visited Great Grandma, and had lunch with her at Culvers. Once we got home and had nap time, I left for a baby shower in Minnesota, and the girls and dada celebrated Grandpa's birthday. I was back by dinner time on Sunday.

On Monday, we attended her art class, they had paper and things to glue. M had the most fun pushing things into the glue sticks. She also got straws of different sizes and enjoyed putting them into one another.

Tuesday was library story hour, which M has been going to since she was about 7 months old. She loves the librarian, and has a friend, "baby Abby." Nap time was the funniest thing for me about today. I said it was nap time, and she started walking up the stairs saying "nye nye" and then walked up to her bed. She pointed at the humidifier, so we filled that, then she walked over to her bed. I asked if she wanted stories and she said no. So I put her in bed, and she fell asleep. I was amazed.

Wednesday we tried out art class at a different library, the project was stickers, which only held her interest for a little while. We got to pick E up from school, which was lots of fun, its always nice to see her at school.

Thursday, M was a little under the weather. She was starting to have a runny nose, which actually turned into one of the worst colds she's had. She was unhappy and snugly for days. We went to Hoyt, and she had a great time on the slide and playing with blocks. Nap time was a little harder, mostly because she didn't feel well. When we went upstairs, she kept saying "play, play"
E only naps about half the time, but she needs quiet time, M always naps. I think there have been only 2 or 3 times that she's refused to nap.

M spent her "nap" time talking, crying a bit, and playing, while E spent hers asking if "quiet time was over?" many times. She finally called down that M was giving her a headache, so I suggested that she go in and talk to her sister.

I could hear them chatting back and forth and E go back to her room. I thought we were back on with quiet time, but it turns out that E was getting her books and reading to M. M was throwing stuffed animals out of her bed, and E would retrieve them and give them back, and M threw them again.

After about 15 minutes, E told me that M wasn't sleeping and was frustrating her (with the throwing animals) so I said that E could come downstairs and quiet time could be over. I was heading up when E called down,

E: But I can't get M out of bet
A: I know, I'm on my way
E: I've been trying and trying, but she just won't jumpabbiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12396324246430046625noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-374209986204824742.post-39693992422974721562015-01-01T19:11:00.004-08:002015-01-01T19:11:47.951-08:00December wrap up
December 31- We celebrated New Years Eve as a family. The girls spent some time at Grandma and Grandpa's house, but were home in time for dinner. We had Chinese food, which is one of E's favorites. Then, we went to the US Bank Eve at the Convention Center. They had bouncy houses, magic shows, bubble shows, and a DJ for dancing. M loved bouncing, and wasn't worried about being the littlest kid in the bounce house. She took lots of turns bouncing. E's favorite was a bouncy obstacle course, she went through a bunch. M tried too, but she was a little too small to make all the parts work. M also went on the tight rope. She had to wait in line a very long time for it, but really enjoyed it once it was her turn.

Once we left the celebration, it was home for rootbeer "flakes" and a program. Then bed. None of us made it to midnight!

December 30- We kept up our break tradition of going to the Milwaukee Public Museum. We brought along our "Subway sandwiches" for a "picnic" at the Museum. And, went through most of the exhibits. We even went to the special robot exhibit. The girls had a wonderful time. E didn't want to see the "breathing dinosaur" but other then that, wanted to see everything. M was absolutely delightful to watch as she explored the Museum, one of the best part of the girls is getting to see everything through their eyes.

December 29- M is getting more and more words each day. She now says: juice (ju ju), more (mo), bye, elbow, bowl, I don't know, and oh no. All are new in the last few days. She also says No, Kitty, Katie, Awa (for all girls), Anna (her friend at school), help (hepie), upie, and Elmo.

We had a bit of a run around day today. The girls dropped me off at my dentist appointment, which took much longer then necessary, so they did some shopping with dada. Then, home for quite time, and then E and dada took the car to an oil change. After that, we played with new Christmas toys for a while, before the girls went to Ama and Ada's for dinner and playtime. Dada and I got some much needed time to relax.

December 28- We had our final Christmas celebration today, we had breakfast with Ama, Ada, Nate, and Annie. We also finished opening Christmas presents. Both girls got items they really wanted, M her own baby doll, and E an "American Girl Doll" both have been playing with them ever since.

We wrapped up the day with a movie party, and of course, danced through the credits. M did her usual spinning dance, and E danced with Dada and I.

December 27- E has been getting up at 4 am lately, which is not great. This morning, M got in on the act too. It made for some tired parents! We went to Ama and Ada's for breakfast, and then opened Christmas gifts. After a little while, M hit the wall and needed lunch and a nap. So we stopped. M totally has the hang of opening gifts, and is lots of fun to watch.

After nap, we went to Great Grandma's (or Ama Ama as M calls her) for her traditional Christmas dinner. The girls both ate well and were well behaved. Their cousin S was there, along with a friend. Both girls were wonderful with the little ones, and E and M had a wonderful time with them.

December 26- It has been unseasonably warn here, so we have been lucky to get outside for the last few days with E and M's friends. It is the most we've ever played outside in December without snowpants. Aside from time with the girls friends, we spent the whole day at home, and enjoying our new Christmas things.

December 25- Today was Christmas day, and the girls had a wonderful day. E got up at 4, but was able to fall back asleep. Luckily she was too tired when she got up to realize it was Christmas! We started our morning by collecting the Hershey Kisses Santa left on the steps (M is a really good collector and a very fast eater). We opened gifts leisurely, taking time to set things up and play with them. By far the biggest hit was the Playmobile swimming pool. E was very good about sharing it.

Ama and Ada came over and visited for an hour, and then we finished up our gifts. E opened hers quickly and M slowly, so there was a little sadness about that, but nothing major. We got to play outside with our friends and they compared holidays, then we finished the day with pizza and the Muppets Christmas Carol.

December 24- We celebrated Christmas Eve by visiting with friends. We spent the morning with my friends from high school, and E got to play with L and C. Then, we exchanged gifts and played with A, A, and R. We had a picnic lunch and some playtime. We went to church, and made it through about 30 minuted before M started saying "no, no, no, no, no" and we had to get her out.

December 23- We kept up our tradition of going to the Children's Museum over winter break. M played for a long time in the water room, but was willing to wear a smock, so she didn't get as drenched as last time, and E had a good time in the building area, paint window, and play kitchen. After the museum, we went to Ian's Pizza, and E ate almost an entire piece by herself!

M also discovered a new favorite food today, Cherrios and milk. She ate several bowls.

December 22- We played at home today, and M started throwing this mini-tantrums. She didn't actually scream or cry, she just started putting her head on the floor and looking really sad. Its not the most effective tantrum, but I'm sure she'll get the hang of it.
December 21- Today was R's birthday and Christmas with Grandma and Grandpa N. E and I had a great time at R's party, and M even made it for a little bit after nap.

We had our Christmas celebration with Grandma and Grandpa tonight. The girls had a great time at their house, E was excited to show off the advent calendar that she has been working on after school. The girls waited patiently to open presents. The hit of the night was M's ride on horsey. Both girls took turns (pretty well playing with it). E was also thrilled with the bed for her princesses, and put them to bed the second she got home.
December 20- M had been very interested in snacking lately, tonight she wanted two. She climbed up on the couch, and laid down, it was adorable.
December 19- The girls are good friends and pretty good about sharing with each other. M is at the age where she wants to do everything that E does, and usually E lets here. Tonight, we had a movie party, which is why they are having popcorn, and M wanted to sit next to E, luckily it was a night when E was ok with that.

Today was the last day of school before winter break, and E was pretty excited to know that she was going to have so many days of vacation. M doesn't have school for two weeks either, but unlike E, I think she'd be sad if she realized that. Today, she brought cookies for her fellow classmates, and they were a hit.
December 17- M absolutely loves E's big girl bed. Whenever she gets the chance and we are upstairs, she makes a break for it. She loves to climb on it, sit on it, and generally play on it. If you ask her if she wants her own big bed, she nods. But, she won't be getting one anytime soon.
December 15- E discovered coffee filter snowflakes at the Verona library the other day, and has been unstoppable ever since, that is why there are scraps of paper all over the floor. The girls often dance together, E always tries to hold M's hands and M lets her for a little bit, before wanting to be independent and spin.
December 14- We had another movie party tonight, and M once again got into the chair. Tonight M was being silly, she kept trying to put her foot into the bowl, which drove E crazy.
December 13- We had breakfast with Santa today and went to Verona to see reindeer at the library. It was our most successful breakfast with Santa yet. Both girls actually ate. After about half the meal, M became fascinated with Santa and we stood the the side watching him and the kids. When it was time for us to see Santa the girls got pretty close, as long as I was with them, and E even asked for hair chalk. After Santa we did a few crafts.

In the afternoon, I took the girls to see reindeer at the library. We were a little early, so they got to play in the library. They both really like the toys at the Verona library. We had some of the complimentary hot chocolate, which M immediately dumped on the floor. The reindeer didn't make much of an impression on the girls, but E learned how to cut paper snowflakes, which have become her new obsession.
December 12- M found this slinky the other day and it has become one of her most favorite things. She loves pulling it apart and trying to chew or stick her tong through it. We haven't bothered to teach her about how it goes downstairs, since she is so happy with what it can already do.
December 10- Today was E's Christmas program at school. I was lucky enough to go twice, during the afternoon, I was able to concentrate, so in the evening I could hold M if things when out of control. E's class did a great job, and at the evening performance, she even saw us in the audience which made her really happy.

Before the performance, we had dinner with Ama and Ada, and the girls were clowning around on the picnic blanket.
December 9- M found dada's cribbage set and has loved opening and closing it. abbiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12396324246430046625noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-374209986204824742.post-39188201564962278152014-12-08T19:01:00.003-08:002014-12-08T19:01:59.872-08:00December 8- Today M and Ada came to coffee break. It has been a long time since they'd been there, and M had a great time seeing everyone again. She made sure to point out her "momma" to everyone, and also her "Boppa" or sometimes her "Boppy." In the evening, both girls painted, and helped dada cook dinner. M had a great time dancing during the cooking and watching Sesame Street.

December 7- We spent most of the day around the house today. The girls got to play with their friend A, and his baby sister. M loved having a baby at her house, and spent most of the playdate pointing out the baby, and saying "baby, baby, baby." We also finished decorating our gingerbread houses, putting E's together, and M eating candy.

December 6- This morning, M went swimming with dada, and then to Costco with Ama and Ada. E and I had art class, and then met everyone for lunch at Apricot. After quiet time, we decorated gingerbread houses with A, A, and R. M wasn't interested in decorating, but she did love the fact that their were little bowls of candy everywhere. After eating candy, M went to play with dada, and occasionally checked back in with everyone. The girls played around the house, and in E's room, and were totally wild on candy!

December 5- We had a pizza party for dinner tonight, we picked up the girls pizza and they had video games and a lollipop machine. The girls had a good time pretending to play, and eating lollipops. At home we watched the Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, which E thought was amusing, but I think she missed a lot of the plot.

December 4- Pile on daddy, E wanted to have a fancy diner tonight, so we did. A fancy dinner mostly meant getting out the Christmas dishes, and having hot chocolate with it.

December 3- I thought M looked so cute in these PJs, we always called them the magic PJs when E wore them, so now, E calls them the magic jammies.

December 2

December 1- Much to E's delight, it was finally time to start the Advent Calendar today! Both girls really like the idea of getting chocolate everyday.

November 30- We got our Christmas tree today, and we needed to decorate it right away. We had a hard time convincing her to wait until it relaxed! M was pretty unsure about the tree, once it was in the house and set up, she just looked at it, pointed, and backed away. Then, she noticed that it made pine needles on the floor and didn't like that one bit. She started pointing and grunting, when I used the vacuum to clean them up, she had about had it!

M wasn't too interested in decorating, but E loved it. She liked looking at each ornament, and talking about them or hearing stories about them.

November 29- Today the girls and I went to Monroe to see their friends E and A. We got there and decorated cookies. M wasn't interested in decorating, but thought it was great when she got a plate of cookies to "eat." Then, we had lunch at McDonalds and played in the playland. Titi took M through the play structure, which she really liked and E went further in the structure then ever before. After some more playtime, including hide and seek and some art, we headed home.

We had a funny drive home, I was talking to E, and I noticed that she was answering funny, I looked back, and she was slumped over asleep. I was hoping she'd stay asleep when we got home, but no such luck, but girls woke up after a quick nap. We managed to get them both to bed, but it was dicy!

November 28- Today the girls had a jammie day, and we got to play with our friend J. We hadn't seem him in a long time, and it was really fun to watch M play with someone her own age. They , played together pretty well, shared pretty well, and no one hit anyone.

November 27- we celebrated Thanksgiving with everyone at our house, we made the turkey, mashed potatoes, and jello, and everyone brought everything else. E was so excited to have "her guests" over, and spent all day asking when they were coming. She was a wonderful helper, and served the pie. She insisted on putting whipped cream on everyone's pieces, and then added sprinkles. Surprisingly, the sprinkles worked. abbiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12396324246430046625noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-374209986204824742.post-35850032536408266182014-11-16T18:03:00.002-08:002014-11-16T18:03:51.303-08:00November 16- Today we got lots done. The girls and I took a nice snow walk this morning, M and E both made snow angels. E had her traditional snowy morning breakfast of a bowl of snow, M didn't know what to think. Then we played around the house, and ran a few errands. After quite time, E and I went to see Stella Queen of the Snow, which E enjoyed. She wasn't expecting puppets, so it took her a little while to warm up. We had a dinner party and a dance to round out the evening.

November 15- We had pretend Thanksgiving today. We started the day at swimming lessons, and M had a great time. E did well too, she was proud of her kicking today. Then we had lunch at home before heading to Ama and Ada's for the rest of the day. The girls played with their uncles and grandparents, E made pumpkin pie, and then we all had Thanksgiving dinner.

November 14-Today Teddy got to go with M to school, and then pick up E from school, so both girls got lots of good Teddy time. We had fish fry with Ama, Ada, and Teddy. M actually ate some fish bites, she is generally a good eater, so I wasn't to surprised.
November 13- Tonight was one of those nights that I wasn’t
home very much. Dada and the girls had a nice evening together with a small
movie party. When I got home, it was time for tubbies (and M’s first accident
in the tub) and bed. M and I have started reading the “baby” book, which was a
favorite of E’s when she was little, so its fun to read it for M.

November 12- Teddy is home for a visit, and is making the
most of his time. He got to spend the morning with M, and they went to
breakfast at one of his favorite restaurants, Cleveland’s. He reports that M
gave him lots of hugs and kisses. In the evening, we took the girls to an
“adult restaurant” at which they did pretty well. There was more walking around
then I was hoping for. But, overall they did pretty well. Both girls were

November 5- This morning, like every morning this week, M and E have both wanted Halloween candy for breakfast. Their have been quite a few tears over that issue. Today, I was along when Ada and M picked up E from school and then we hurried home so dada could make a doctor appointment. It was great timing, we got to play outside with A and A. The girls played soccer for awhile and then the little ones played on the swings for a long time. The big ones swung for awhile too.

We had a dinner picnic on the living room floor and E actually ate her entire dinner! At bedtime, we've got some new traditions. M and I read three stories (Curious George and the Puppies and two others) then she and dada rock while they listen to the Mickey music box.
November 4- Today we took the girls to vote before school. We had high hopes for the election, which were dashed. The girls enjoyed voting and the stickers they got. In the evening, we were surprised by a night "off" as the girls played at the neighbors houses. M got to play with A, and to see their kitty, which she was so excited about. M had a hard bedtime, I had to rock her until she fell asleep, which is unusual. E was worn out, the time change has been hitting her hard!
November 3- Today I finally heard M's new word "no" she has used it exactly twice. Both times, she says it like its no big deal and she talks all the time, even though that isn't the case. In the morning, E did some lovely hair styling with M, I'm assured that even though it doesn't look like it, M was excited to have her hair done. Apparently, she asked Ada to put them back into her hair at nap time. Both girls had an early bed time, as they adjusted to the time change. M woke up in the middle of the night, which she doesn't often do.
November 2- We spent some time around the house today, and M spent some time wearing big girl undies! She is pretty good about using the potty, but she's not quite there yet! Because of daylight savings time, the girls were up by 6:15, and ready to roll. Dada and I were exhausted, we ran through all the activities by 10:30! We did get some new markers, and the girls had a great time coloring, they found a new coloring spot, on the steps, but it requires some close watching so that the walls don't end up with a new decoration.

E and dada went to a karate birthday party, but E was scared of the karate, and so they left. In the evening, they girls went over to Ama and Ada's house of a taco party.abbiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12396324246430046625noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-374209986204824742.post-80057999315235687882014-11-01T19:18:00.001-07:002014-11-16T17:51:32.786-08:00Hallowen

November 1- Today was probably one of M's most favorite days ever. She got one on one time with both parents. She and dada spent the morning together while E and I were at Fossil class, and then she and I got some one on one time while E and dada went to church. The thing I think M liked most about the day was getting to play with and walk our neighbor's dog. She absolutely loved holding the leash, and walking with the dog. We played together inside for awhile, she pretended to feed E's baby doll, and then made a nice picture out of glitter glue.

It was also a first today, the first time that she has insisted on wearing a dress up dress.
October 31- We did quite a bit of Halloween celebrating today. We started the day with Halloween pancakes at IHOP with Ama and Ada and then the girls went to their house for the day. They got to go to the Children's Museum for the second day in a row, which E thought was amazing. M had a great time in the water room, and apparently got completely soaked.

We picked the girls up early, grabbed dinner and costumes, and went to trick or treat at the mall with A and A. The girls got tons of candy, and had a great time. M liked choosing candy from the big bowl, and wandering around the mall.

Then, we got home, put on warmer clothes, and went out to the nieghborhood. M lost interest after two houses, so she and dada went home, E, R, A, and A kept going and made a big loop around the neighborhood.
October 30- E didn't have school today, so she spent the day with Ama and Ada, they said they loved getting the chance to spend the day with her. Grandma and Grandpa dropped off a Halloween cake, and the girls decorated it. E had a hard time putting on the frosting, but they both liked putting on the sprinkles.

We had to go out tonight to get E new shoes, she wore holes through her other pair, and refuses to wear the tennis shoes she and dada got at the end of the summer. She picked boots, and looks adorable in them. However, she refused to get a second pair of shoes. She had her heart set on the boots, and every other pair made her fall down. We had dinner at the food court and played in Build a Bear and the play area.
October 29- The girls started out the day with breakfast at Mickies (and I spent the whole day thinking it was Thursday, since that is our regular breakfast day). Then M had a playdate with the grandson of Ama and Ada's friend. In the evening, Ada and I took the girls to trick or treat on State Street. It only took M a few stores to get the idea of trick or treating, she started walking right up to bowls and grabbing candy. She had such a big smile, and was so cute in her costume, no one cared that she took more then one piece. We made it from the Historical Society to the Overture Center where we watched a magic show before heading back. I have never seen E enjoy a show like that one, it was so fun to watch her.

E had her class Halloween party today, she wore her costume all day, and they participated in a costume parade and had lots of snacks.
October 28- Tonight we had the little girls to play at our house, and they had a good time with each other. We have two cash registers, which helped because they were able to each use one. We decided that M would be a monkey for Halloween since she it was a warm costume. She loved being a monkey and even wore the costume while playing with A. M and ada have been heading to the park as much as possible this week to make the most of the nice weather.
October 27- The weather was beautiful today and M and Ada went to the park. I dropped E off at school this morning, it was nice to see all her classmates again. We are working to get back in the swing of things, but we got out of the house as best as we could.

M has been so into these Halloween decorations, she is always very gentle with them, and likes to make sure they are matched up just right.
October 26- The weather was great today, we had a very nice family day. The girls and I had an outside picnic for lunch today, not something I expected in late October. We carved pumpkins before dinner. E was so excited to do this and couldn't wait to get started. She made a great pumpkin, although she didn't want to touch the insides. M liked drawing on her pumpkin, and tried to use a child knife to carve. In the end, she played while I finished hers.abbiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12396324246430046625noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-374209986204824742.post-13963825057709512712014-11-01T18:51:00.000-07:002014-11-01T18:51:21.380-07:00<!--[if !mso]>

October 16- Today was a beautiful fall day, so M, Ama and Ada got
to spent a lot of time outside. M and Ama went to play at Hoyt, and M really
enjoyed being with the other kids. After work today, M and I took a quick walk
to stare at our neighbor's cat Gracie. Gracie likes to look out the window
between the two sections of blinds which M find amusing.

After that we headed for dinner at Costco, as usual, M ate a great
meal, she loved wandering the store. E picked out a few great Halloween
costumes for her. But we decided to hold off.

In the picture above, the girls are fighting over the soda we got
at Costco, they were trying to alternate after 2 sips each. But, M doesn't
understand alternating, and E isn't shy about ripping it out of her sister's hand.

October 15- Today dada took E to gymnastics, so M and I had a nice
hour together. We played all over the house (with nothing longer then 3
minutes) then we took a walk. Right before the walk I asked M if she wanted a
snack. She nodded yes, and then said "affle" (apple). This is really
one of the first times M has used words in that way. Generally, she just
identifies things and points them out. Her words so far are: key, pool, balloon
(booo), momma, dada, sissy, Ama, and Boppa.

M has also discovered our dryer balls. she now loves helping me
fold clothes (where she tries to reach in and grab the balls), and putting the
wet clothes into the dryer.

October 14- Tonight the big girls played at our house while M and
her friend A played at R's house. M had a great time, and R's mom reports that
she was very sweet, at one point choosing to stop playing and help cook.

E and the big girls had a good time too. We did a few different

which is nice. One of my favorite parts of the evening was listening to them
talk to each other, and listening to how they felt things were run at our
house.

October 13- M has a new favorite thing, her Mickey Mouse music
box. As soon as she wakes up, she calls for Sissy to turn it on. She likes it
to be playing while she nurses, during diaper changes, and pretty much any time
we are in her room. M and Ada came to coffee break today, M is starting to get
braver at break, she points to each person around the table, and for a minute
today, I thought she was going to ask to be on someone else's lap!

October 12- M got a new car seat for grandma and grandpa's car,
and E had the idea to color on the box the seat came in. Both girls had a great
time working on that project. M and dada got some nice time together today,
since E and I went to the Packer Party at her school. During the beginning of
the game we made sandwiches to be delivered to a shelter. Despite being 4, I
think E was one of the hardest workers there. She was originally in charge of
scooping jelly onto bread. After doing that for a little while, she switched to
putting sandwiches in paper bags. She filled bags faster then I could open
them.

In the evening, the girls went over to Grandma and Grandpa's
house. I overhead a funny exchange on the way out. After Grandma told E they
were having spaghetti, E said "well then M has to eat naked babies"
and Grandma told her she didn't think people should be naked at the table.
Well, E was right, M came home covered in sauce!

October 11- Today was our friend A's birthday, she had an amazing
Frozen themed party. E has decided she wants the same party in March. Both
girls went to the party, and they both had a lot of fun. E liked all the
activities, and M liked being around the big kids and being part of the fun. At

October 10- Today was a bit different, E didn't have school today,
so we started out the day with a leisurely breakfast at home. Then M had her 18
month check up and E was scheduled for a flu shot. Both girls were amazing at
the doctor. M didn't cry (she used to cry from the second she saw the doctor)
and E entertained herself for the most part.

M continues to be a nice, normal size. Although I'm not sure how
tall she is, the first time they measured her it was clearly short, and the
second time seems to tall. She weights 21.8 pounds.

After the doctor, both girls went to M's school. E has been so
curious about M's school and has asked lots of great questions about it, so it
was really nice for her to see it. Then after lunch, E got to march in dada's
school's homecoming parade (and M got to watch). E really liked the parade, and
got lots of candy. Then, in the evening, the girls, Dada, and Ada had dinner
together while Ama and I went to a resale.

October 9- We started out the day with breakfast at Mickies, M and E have started splitting the kids meal, which still leaves LOTS of leftovers. M even wore her Anna hat for most of breakfast. Today M made a wonderful discovery, "toast sprinkle." E has been eating toast sprinkle for a while now (its just white sugar sprinkled on toast) but M hasn't noticed. Today she did, and wasn't really fooled by the tiny amount of sprinkle I gave her!

She went to Hoyt for the first time this fall, and had a great time climbing on everything. And, she successfully used the potty twice today! After work, she and I had some nice time together, we played outside with a few neighbor kids and then went for a walk (we even saw a dog).

E and dada got to have a little daddy daughter time today, which E has been missing. They had a nice hour, just the two of them.
October 8- Today Ada and M played at the Randall playground for a while in the morning. They do a very nice job of getting outside everyday. After work, she and I headed outside. In the past week, M has fallen in love with A, and A's mom. She spends her time outside walking up their front walk hoping to get them to come outside. Or, hoping to be invited in to play with their cat! Today, she was in luck, and even better, the cat got to come out on a leash to play.

E and I want to gymnastics, while we were their dada and M kept playing with friends. E had a great time at gymnastics, she is getting really good at the monkey bars, and did very well with her rolls, and her half cart-wheels.

M has been really into writing lately, any time she sees a pen she has to try it.
October 7- Today M helped Ada with errands, and got to go to library story hour. We spent most of the evening around the house today, E asked if she could measure things, so of course monkey-do had to measure too.

October 6- Today M and Ada visited Great Gramma, and had a nice morning with her. Ada says that M is getting more comfortable with Great Gramma and is starting to feel familiar with her house. They took a long walk together and had lunch together. M even sat on Great Gramma's lap and looked at a wall hanging and identified the "woo wooo" (actually a deer) and some other things on it.

Tonight, M and I took a nice walk before dinner, we played on the swings, and M had a new game, she would pretend to hand me my keys, and then when I reached for them, pulled them away and laughed. E and I went to the library (where E got a library card) and dada and M went for a long walk to practice for a 5K fund raiser for E's schol.
October 5- Today we went to Pecks and Hecks farms for pumpkins and fall fun. We started at Pecks, and were sad to see that they had taken away the kid play area. M and E had a great time picking pumpkins and pulling wagons through the field. E was having a bit of a rough day, she wasn't in the best mood, which made things a little difficult.

M had her first bouncy house experience and she LOVED it, she didn't want to leave, and then she wanted a second turn. E and I did the horse and carriage ride,

After quiet time, we went to A's house to watch Frozen and make snowflakes for A's birthday party. M fell in love with their cat and spent most of the movie petting and chasing it.
October 4- This morning, M and E had swimming lessons. It was M's first swimming lesson, she wasn't sure about it at first, but warmed up. During E's lesson, she kept trying to get back into the pool. After swimming, E and I went to my work for awhile, so that dada and M could go to the grocery store, and take a nap.

After quiet time, E and I went to church, and M went to Ama and Ada's (dada wasn't feeling well, so he took a nap). After church we had dinner with Ama and Ada at McDonalds, and the girls got a little play time in the playland. M went much further in the tunnel then she ever has before.

For the first time in a long time tonight, M woke up in the middle of the night, it took about 3 hours to get her back down, making for tired parents.
October 3- M went to school today, she had a great time, and is making friends. Ama says that M really likes her school. When we picked up E today, she was absolutely amazed to hear that M had been to school and was full of questions about it.
October 2- This morning, the girls and I had breakfast with Ada, and M got to play with both grandparents for the day. After work, dada took them to Costco for shopping and dinner. They did a good job, so the three of us got to split what E calls "that brown ice cream"
MOctober 1- Today Miss M had a big day. She and Ada set out to spend as much time outside as possible, and they did. They went to the park right after breakfast, and were the first ones there, and the last to leave! They played at Randall School, and throughout the morning, their were different kids their to play with. Ada reports that M is very social, and tried to engage the other kids.

Tonight, E had gymnastics, and M went along to watch. Then tonight, M did to things that were new. First, she went potty on the potty. She has been funny about the potty, she is very interested, and really likes to sit on it like her sister. It has been a while since she successfully went, but today she did it. The second thing she did was roar like a lion when asked. She pointed to a lion and I said, "Lion, rooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrr" then I asked "what does a lion say" and M said "rooaaarr"abbiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12396324246430046625noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-374209986204824742.post-78815169798024425872014-09-30T18:15:00.000-07:002014-09-30T18:23:19.829-07:00

September 30- Today dada and I were responsible for the "big girls" we joined up with the "little girls" for a trip to the mall to see Anna, Elsa, and Olaf, and participate in some kid activities. Only A and R were brave enough to stand near the characters. Both little girls were scared of Olaf, and E still doesn't really like people in costume.

The girls all did a craft project, and then had dinner at the food court. After dinner, they all played at the play land. I think M really enjoyed being part of the crowd. She had a great time in the play area. Back at home, she got to take a solo tubby, which is a little rare for her.

This morning, M and Ada came to meet me at coffee break. M was a big hit with all my co-workers, and took turns pointing around the table at everyone.
September 29- Tonight when we got home from work and school, we tried to play outside right away. It was an interesting night, while we were outside, the temperature dropped significantly, and we are back to fall. Tonight at dinner, M was sitting nicely in her chair, but suddenly had to get out. Turns out that she wanted to sit with dada.

For the last couple weeks, M has been amazing at bed time, she has started being able to put herself down to sleep with no (or a few) tears. She also has a Mickey Mouse music box, and she has to have it turned on during rocking and stories, and usually first thing in the morning.
September 28- Today we had a lovely family day. The morning was filled with the Zoo Run, which E and dada participated in. M did a nice job wandering around and waiting, and then cheering on her family. She was absolutely in love with looking at Henry, the zoo's mascot. She didn't want to touch him, or stand by him, but she wanted to be held near him, and point and wave. She has developed a new wave, using just her last three fingers.

After the race, we had a picnic at the zoo and then looked at the animals. After quite time we ran a few errands, and then had some play time in "Leaf Wonderland" (what E is calling our front yard).
September 27- While dada parked cars this morning, the girls and I went to the Badger Bash and Union South. Dada met us there, and we tried Mt. Dew, played bean bag toss, and spun the prize wheel for the book store (E won lollipops for herself and M). Then E got a feather in her hair.

We had lunch at the Sett, and watched a little bit of the game. At home, E and I took a nap together, while dada held M for her nap. After quite time the girls and I played outside in all the freshly fallen leaves..
September 26- Dada had a TON of grading to do tonight, so the girls and I were on our own. We started the evening with a picnic in Leaf Wonderland, and then went to Hilldale. We got E her Buckey Badger shirt, played at the toy store, got M's bangs cut, and had popcorn and smoothie at Target. Then, we went to JoAnn's so that E could pick out Elsa colored yarn for a craft project.abbiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12396324246430046625noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-374209986204824742.post-132595761221714992014-09-25T18:25:00.001-07:002014-09-30T18:31:47.377-07:00
September 25- E woke me up very early this morning with the dreaded "mommy, I throwed up" so we spent a good part of the night cleaning up. So, she and I stayed home from work/school this morning. Ama came over in the afternoon so that I was able to go work for a little bit. It doesn't seem like M is sick (knock on wood). M had a great time playing at the park today, there was another little girl slightly younger then her there and they actually played together.

After work, she and I went for a walk and she was crazy to see "Ah-wa" (her name for E's friend A) so we got to stop in a visit with A and A, and then play on the swings.
September 24- E and I went to gymnastics today while M stayed home and helped dada cook. While she was with Boppa today, M had a real puzzle breakthrough, she was able to match up the pieces of her animal puzzle and get them to fit all by herself (or with very minimal intervention). This is a very new skill for her.
September 22- Today I achieved my parenting rock star status! Dada had to go back to work, so he hurried home to get dinner for us. He left, and the girls and I played outside for a while and then had a movie party with popcorn and Brave. For the first time, I successfully put both girls to bed! I nursed M, then read to E, then nursed M again. When she was done, I put M down and said "night night" she fussed for a minute and then was quiet. I went back to read E a last "fairy chapter book" chapter, and M was asleep when I was done. E was out before dada came home.

M did have her first official tantrum tonight, it was the kind were nothing made her happy, we tried snacks, juice, and lots of other things, but she basically just needed to feel sad for awhile.
September 21- We went to pick apples today, which was very important to E to accomplish this fall. We went to Epplegarden like usual, and had better luck finding low apples then we usually do. E really had a great time picking apples and so did M. Although M kept trying to pick them up off the ground! Both girls liked munching apples while we walked and picked, and we definitely got a good haul. E and I even made apple crisp for dessert (although E didn't eat any).

Grandma and Grandpa watched the girls tonight so that dada and I could go out. The girls had a great time at their house, and even took a tubby.
September 20- We had quite a day today, we started by parking cars for the Badger game, and having a lemonade stand. E wasn't as excited about lemonade as she was last week, and refused to yell "lemonade and wata for sale." She was also much more interested in drinking lemonade this week! We had planned to go get lunch by the stadium, like usual, but Ama and Ada's neighbor's gave us tickets to the game. We walked down to the stadium and M got to see her first Badger game. E got to see her first regular season game! Both girls seemed to really enjoy it. M even got to add Camp Randall stadium to the list of places she nursed :)

We spent the afternoon playing outside with friends and E went to a classmate's birthday party. Needless to say, both girls were completely wiped out by bedtime!
September 19- M and I were home alone for a little while tonight, and she was looking in the fridge. She found this coffee creamer and started carrying it around and calling it baby. We even went outside and played sidewalk chalk with her "baby."

September 18- The girls went back to Mickie's today, sadly I couldn't join them. This was the first visit to Mickies with E at 4K, and it seemed to work pretty well.

September 17- M has to brush her teeth each night, just like big sissy does. She's noticed that E gets toothpaste, so now she needs it too. Fortunately, she's too little to realize that we are just pretending to put some on her brush.

E has started gymnastics again, so M and dada got some nice time to explore outside together tonight while E and I were at gymnastics.
September 16- Today we had a different morning, E, M and I went to Ama and Ada's house, but they were out for breakfast. E was upset by the change in her routine, so we went for donuts, E was convinced that they would be home when we got back. But, they weren't. After she ate, E decided to wait until Ada was home before going to school. Fortunately, he made it home before we had to go! M and Ada came for coffee break today, which was great. M ate most of my yogurt, and a chocolate cookie (I offered her half, but she knew better and took a whole one)

After school today, we had little A over. We are rotating child care with our neighbors, and the little girls and big girls will travel in a pack, so M got to have a friend over, they played pretty well together, M did a little pushing. M found a new baby doll today, and was in love it with. We'll see how long it lasts.
September 15- M and Ada went to visit great gramma today, and they took her out for breakfast. After breakfast, M had a nice time playing with great gramma. M has been wearing this crown all the time. We're not totally sure why, E has never really been a fan, so she hasn't gotten it from her.
September 14- We had a nice family Sunday today, with each parent getting some one on one with with each girl. E and I went to a soccer themed birthday party for one of her class-mates, while dada and M played at home and took a nap together. After quiet time, E and dada went to a football party (dada won beer, E was very excited for him). M and I took the time to go to the playground at the community center near our house. We used to go to this park all the time with E, so I was very happy to get the chance to play there with M.
September 13- We all slept in this morning, which was strange, but great! I started out the day at a clothing resale, so dada took the girls to the Monroe Street Festival. E got "W"s on her face, and a balloon poodle, M didn't get her face painted, and popped her balloon animal. They also got a giant bag of kettle corn. After the festival, we had lunch with Ama and Ada at HyVee and then E got a chance to play with her friend R.

M helped me make pizza for dinner. She got to stand on a chair in the kitchen one time, and now she seems to think its a normal thing.
September 12- I was out this evening doing a busy bag swap, so dada was on his own with the girls. The girls had dinner at Grandma and Grandpa's house, and then program and playtime with dada. M is starting to say lots of words, she can say: Ama, Bappa, Momma, Dada, Sissy, Woof Woof (Dog), Waffle, Awa (any girl friend), and shoe.
September 6- It was the first Badger game of the season today, and at long last E got to have her lemonade stand! It was a huge success. Turns out people like to buy lemonade and water from a young girl who yell "lemonade and wata for sale" over and over and over! Once the game started, our whole family walked down to campus for lunch and to see the festivities. We had a wonderful picnic and family time.abbiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12396324246430046625noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-374209986204824742.post-77024206230262790632014-09-05T18:58:00.001-07:002014-09-05T18:58:06.781-07:00

September 5- We made it through our first week of school (for everyone). Ada and M dropped E off at school this morning, before heading to a new activity. They went to Tenny Nursery School and had a great time. M didn't even fall asleep on the way home, and it sounds like she was very into playing so she took a late nap. After we picked E up from Grandma and Grandpa's we headed home. E helped me cook tonight by being the waitress. M didn't like being sent to the basement too much at all. After dinner and a quick walk, it was time for program and bed. Both girls had a hard time going down tonight.

The chair that they are both trying to sit in is a "monkey see, monkey do" chair, they both totally ignore it, but once one is sitting the other one HAS to be too!
September 4- The girls had breakfast with Ama and Ada, and got a little time with Teddy this morning. E went to 4K, and M stayed with Ama and Ada. I was lucky, I got to see M and the gang for breakfast (at coffee break). I love getting the chance to see her during the day. After work and school, E and I pretended to be fairies and went for a walk, we found thee cicadas (making us bug fairies). We got to spend a little time with R before heading in.
September 3- Teddy in in WI for a quick visit, so we went to Ama and Ada's tonight. We spent some time on the deck visiting. E wanted to play kickball, but refused to wear sunscreen, so instead she sat on the deck. We had dinner, and some more visiting, then the girls got new PJs.

This was E's first time getting hot lunch at school, and it was a success!
September 2- It was dada's first day of school today, everyone did a nice job of working together this morning to make sure that he wasn't late. We are still working out the kinks of being a one car family, but we are getting it down. It most comes into play as we try to navigate work and school.
September 1- We had a nice, relaxing labor day. We started out the day with a trip to the Zoo. We haven't had too many family trips there this summer, so it was nice to sneak another one in. Ama and Ada came too. On this trip, we even went into the aviary (something E usually doesn't want to do). After the zoo, we had our traditional lunch at Hong Kong Cafe along with a picnic, the girls must have been starving because the both ate an entire entree! After quite time, we played at home. E and I went to Toys R Us, and she was very excited to get Barbie Juice
August 31- We went to the Bristol Renaissance Faire today, it was me and the girls first trip to a Faire of that size. We got there just in time for the jousting (which was something E and dada both really wanted to see) and then spent the rest of the time wandering around taking in the sites. Dada and E also got to shoot bow and arrows (E has always wanted to be like Merida). We had some food on a stick, and E got some nice face painting done.
August 30- We started out the morning getting our family pictures taken, and were planning a last trip to Circus World, but the weather turned bad. So we went downtown to the Children's Museum and Farmers Market. M and I stayed at the Museum where she had a ball in the water room. She got so wet other parents would literally gasp when the saw her (we had a change of clothes). She played in the phone booth, and really liked running around the kid area. We had pizza for lunch and then stopped for balloon animals on the way back to the car, E got a penguin and M got a "corn dog" (a plain yellow balloon)abbiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12396324246430046625noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-374209986204824742.post-56717966286876372032014-08-29T19:17:00.002-07:002014-09-05T19:02:22.247-07:00

August 29- There are moments M looks just like her sister, and this is one of them. Today was the second day of school, and our second day back in our routine. We are getting better at it, although the true test comes on Tuesday, when we've got to get dada to school on time too. We are all carpooling together right now, which is nice, but certainly hectic. Today, I dropped E off at school where she played on the playground for a bit before heading down to her classroom. She acted like an old pro, barely even looking back when I said goodbye.

M got to spend the day with Ama and Ada, I think it is so good for her to have quality one on one time like that. I think one of the harder things about a second child is the lack of one on one time with either of them. They had a good time going out for breakfast and playing.

After work and school, we got to go to the girls friend A's birthday party. It was M's first kid-party, and she had a great time. She loved playing outside with bubbles (E had a good time with pool noodles), M ate pretty well, and after the "big" kids went to play, she contented herself with snacking on their left over cake.
August 28- Today was E's first day of 4K, she had a wonderful time! Dada an I dropped her off, and she ran right into her classroom and sat on the rug for storytime. I got some reports from Ama and Ada throughout the day and they said she seemed to have a good time at recess. She liked lunch in the cafeteria, and the playground.

M had a big day too, they played outside all morning, and even went to the zoo!

After work and school, E got to pick a restaurant for dinner, she picked McDonald's of course. We had an early bedtime, which was different for us. M protested quite a bit, but she fell asleep and slept through the night (something she hadn't done the last two nights). E was asleep by 8, which is rare!

I asked E what she wanted to be when she grew up and she said "I want to work from home."
August 27- This morning, E and I went to school to visit her classroom. Initially, she wasn't too interested, but when she got to the dollhouse, she was hooked. In the evening we headed back to school for an ice cream social. E loved picking out different toppings for her ice cream, and M was thrilled to get her own bowl too, we played on the playground for a bit, M is fearless on the slide. At the top, you always have to tell her to sit down, otherwise it seems like she might just keep going!
August 26- Today was the girls last day with dada, and E and dada had a "daddy daughter day." The girls started out with Grandpa Ada this morning, in the early afternoon, dada picked up E and they had Rocky Rococo's for lunch, and built a Lego model. They picked M up from Ada's early, and had some nice playtime around the house. When I got home from work, we pretended to be wolves for a little bit, had dinner (E proclaimed grilled pineapple "not bad") and then E and dada had a movie party. M and I took a nice long walk and even played in the big sandbox with R and her mom.

When M and I got home, it was time for the movie credits, or as we call it, time to dance.
August 25- Today was Ama's birthday, so we got to celebrate with her this afternoon. We had a birthday party, with a cake that E made and decorated with sprinkles. Sadly, we forgot our camera, so we had to take our picture after.

After we got home, dada went to a party, and I tried to do bedtime on my own. Needless to say, when dada got home, everyone was still up.
August 23- We started the day with a breakfast picnic, and sand table time. We went to the Verona Public Library today to see the History Tour, the girls like the old time badminton game, but were mostly excited to play with the library's toys, went to church in the evening, and had dinner (and ice cream) at Culvers. E was today's photographer.
August 17- We asked E what she wanted to do while in MN, and her response was to see Natie, Annie, and Coco puppy, so we visited with them prior to heading home. We stopped and had a picnic at a park near their house with "Subway sandwiches" (the only kind E will eat). M loved seeing the dog and wandering the park.

M napped for about an hour of the car ride, and then sobbed the rest of the time. We took a much needed stop at the Wisconsin Dells and had dinner at Buffalo Phil's E loved the amusement park aspect, and even won some nice prizes playing the games.
August 16- We were at Titi's today, and all the kids played in the pool and with other water toys today. They were also busy around the house. M really hit it off with little, who called M, "my baby" it was nice to see little E take such good care of M, and have a nice time with her. M is at the age where she plays in parallel with other kids, and it was nice to see her have a little more interaction.
August 15- This morning was M's first trip to the dentist, and E's third. E has been asking to go back ever since last time, since she got a prize. Both girls did a great job, and no one cried! After the dentist, we started our trip to MN, the girls did ok in the car, M didn't nap nearly as long as we had hoped. E kept herself pretty entertained. We stopped at Como Park Zoo, for a quick visit, then went to Titi's. We got there nice and early, so we got to have dinner and some playtime which was great. Both girls (and their parents had a great time)abbiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12396324246430046625noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-374209986204824742.post-79684445249191985632014-08-14T19:06:00.001-07:002014-08-14T19:06:47.663-07:00

August 14- Today E spent the morning at work with me. We caught the bus, which she was very excited about, walked to campus, and got to my office. The first order of business was applying lip balm, then we could put our snacks away and get coffee. E watched two movies (Hercules and Mulan). We had coffee break and E got to put her feet in the water. After a little more work, we had lunch at the Union with Ama and Ada. E had a hot dog like always. We got blue moon ice cream and mint chocolate cookie. There was almost a meltdown when they were put in the same bowl, but E got through it. After she left my work, she got to spend some time with Ama and Ada.

Dada and M spent the day together, its something they don't get to do all that often. They ran errands, had some nice playtime around the house. M started "honking" her nose, then honking dada's nose. She's also become really interested in high fiving, she even tried to high five the cashier at the grocery store.

When we got home from work, the girls got to play outside with their friends, there were lots of outdoor toys, and running around.

August 13- M is really starting to be able to entertain herself (sometimes) today she played with the Sophia the First family on the couch nicely for a while. We registered E for 4K today, I can't believe she is off to school this year. While we did that, E and M played with Ada for a little bit. They had a great time.

The girls had another big day, they went to the zoo with dada.

August 12- The girls had a huge day today, they started the morning with a trip to the mechanic, so they walked to the mall. Once they were their they walked around the mall and played. E got to do some school shopping with Grandma. The girls and dada had lunch at HyVee, and then the girls went to grandma and grandpa's house for some playtime. E had gymnastics in the afternoon, which is her favorite activity.
